39 and down

Turned 39 today...

Have been low on motivation lately. Only ran two times in the last 14 days. Normally I am very pumped up everytime we visit Melbourne - taking advantage of the conditions and traffic-free running path by doing long fast workouts at paces faster than Singapore training efforts. But this time, there was no motivation nor the urge.

Didn't feel like wanting to run at all. I am just mentally tired of running with shitty form in order to compensate my ankle and shin problems. Didn't stay in a hotel, so no gym equipment to cross train with. The only cross train I did was playing hide and seek and chasing around Sling Jr :)

Also, the weather after 10-10-10 became Melbourne-esque. Storm, hail, gusty wind and rains every single day. Didn't bother to put on my shoes and go outside.

I am even too lazy to run on my birthday :p

With very low mileage in the last 2 months due to injury and almost no exercise in last 2 weeks, my fitness level surely have gone down by several notch. I need my mojo back.

I feel similiar due to my calf strain. However on Friday I bought some calf guards and a stick at the Running Centre after the Mottram breakfast, and hope to get some physio soon for me and my wifes knee as finances permit. All the best with getting the injury problems healed quickly and effectively. You can quickly make up what you lose in 2-6 weeks, after that it starts to get a lot harder. My kids motivate me, because I know that one day they will be old enough to see what I did as their model, and the better condition I am in, the more I will be able to help them achieve their dreams. All the best with finding new dreams to pursue, and getting back on track with some of the current ones. Sometimes the best thing one can do is to take some good holidays, and live to fight another day. All the best with getting going again....

Happy Birthday mate.

Just take it easy for a bit and focus on other things for a few days. It will also give your legs more time to heal.

Only when you want to go for a run rather than feeling like you have to go for a run is the time to start up again. Then when you start it up again, just cruise along for few days and just enjoy.

You'll pick things up from where you left off in no time.

Happy 39th Sling! You'll get your mojo back once the injury has cleared up. This is the year you've really got to ramp things up so you can win some Masters prizes :)
